About

Central Transport Ltd

Our Story

Since there has been farming in Reporoa there has been a cartage business. It started with Robinson Creighton and then became Harvey Mabey, followed by Stuart Harvey Ltd.

In 2002 Stuart Harvey decided it was time to move on and sold his business to the 2 owner drivers he had at the time; they renamed the business Central Transport Ltd in a bid to keep a consistent name!

In 2005 Brendon and Abi Cane bought the business outright and have run it ever since.

With careful management and excellent staff, they have grown the business to employ over 100 people and run 60 trucks.

With the growth of the business came the need to build a bigger workshop, office, and wash. With the help of Concrete Structures, the workshop and office was completed in 2012, and the wash completed in 2015. With the onset on M. Bovis in within New Zealand a specialized sanitation truck wash system was installed in 2018 to ensure that all our trucks turn up on farm fully sanitised.

With a strong management team, dedicated drivers, a team of in-house mechanics, engineers plus a tyre maintenance crew, CTL has been able to go from strength to strength.

In 2019 CTL combined its livestock division with Gordon Transport in Taupo to form Midlands Rural Transport. Midlands Rural fronted by Jason Gordon and Susan Martin now control the all livestock cartage.

We now have depots in Broadlands, Taupo, Rotorua, Hastings and Gisborne.

In the office, alongside Midlands Rural, we have 8 dispatch managers, plus 5 admin staff, all overseen by our operations managers. Therefore, there is always someone available to take your call and answer your queries.

At CTL we take great pride in our work, we do every job to the highest possible standard and will not settle for anything less.

If you have any rural cartage needs, give us a call, we will be only too happy to help.
